8 Goals For 2018
I hate the term resolution, if I make a resolution I feel a lot of pressure to keep to it strictly and I usually fail at this within the first few weeks. With this failure comes great frustration and annoyance at myself for not being able to stick to something I had set for myself. In the past I have made the typical 'New Years Resolutions' of going on a diet, not spending any money etc etc and not one of them stuck for more than a month. So this year I have set my self some goals, working towards a goal sounds so much better, this is not really 'New Year New Me' this is New Year with a slightly improved way of living my life. So here are my 8 goals for 2018.
Number 1: Blog More - This has already not got off to the best start as it now the 18th of January and I am only now doing my goals for the year, after almost a whole month has passed. Regardless of my rocky start I am aiming to blog more this year, and blog about anything I want to, about the things I enjoy. If that leads to my blog growing so be it, but if not I am still going to enjoy it. I want to use the social media I enjoy more too, in particular Pinterest and Instagram (you can find me on all platforms in the sidebar). I just want to have fun with it and make something I am proud of.
Number 2: Be More Organised and Productive - I am the queen of procrastination, I would rather sit and make lists of the things I have to get done than actually do the stuff that needs doing. So this goal kind of goes hand in hand with blogging more, I need to organise my free time better so I do the things I set out to do. I am fully embracing the Bullet Journal life this year (a blog to come on this) hoping that will help me organise my life a little better.
Number 3: Be More Creative - I have always loved art and being creative in that way, once upon a time it looked like that would have been my career. I love to draw and paint and use textiles, but as I move further into adulthood this is something I have found less and less time for. I am hoping this year I can find time for this again and maybe use it to my advantage and sell more on Etsy and Redbubble. Specifically I want to learn how to cross stitch and do digital art.
Number 4: Learn New Skills - This goal is a follow on from the last one. Since I have now finished my Masters degree I feel like I need to keep my brain from going to mush by learning some more new skills. I am going to do this by using Skill Share (this is in no way sponsored) I just love the idea that I can teach myself pretty much anything I want from the comfort of my own home.
Number 5: Read More - This is another strategy for stopping my brain from turning to mush. I used to be an avid reader and I truly loved a good book, however life seemed to get in the way and I found less and less time to read, so this year I have set myself a Good Reads challenge to read 30 books in 2018, to make sure I read more and rediscover my love for books.
Number 6: Take Better Care of My Body - This is not me going on a super strict diet, I have tried that in the past and it has never worked, I just love food to much. This is me trying to eat better, make better food choices, drinking more water and doing more exercise (lets face it any exercise is better than what I have been doing). Even if this just means switching out fizzy pop and taking a walk on a Sunday at least its a small improvement. I also want to take better care of my skin, get a skin care routine locked down that I am happy with. Basically just take better care of myself.
Number 7: Be More Careful With My Money - This is mainly trying to stick to some sort of budget and not spend money on frivolous things like lunches at work when I know I can take lunch from home. This should then allow myself to save some money and have more money to use on the things I really enjoy like travelling, going to the cinema and trying new things.
Number 8: De Clutter My Life - Last year I finally moved out of my parents house and moved in with my boyfriend. I still have so much stuff left in my old room that needs to be sorted and basically disposed of. I need to stop holding on to things and seriously de clutter my life. It is not just physical things either, I need to clean up my computer files and delete a ton of emails so that I feel like I have more space in every aspect of my life.
What goals do you have for 2018? Let me know and hopefully we can achieve them together.
